Role overview
You will design, implement, automate, test and support infrastructure for a ransomware protection and recovery cleanroom environment. The cleanroom is a largely autonomous recovery environment that enables rapid recovery, analysis and cleansing of affected systems after a ransomware incident. You will protect and recover both application data and infrastructure configuration data, applying security-first design and extensive automation.

Key responsibilities

• Support, develop and optimise security and recovery for compute, converged, storage, backup and archive environments at scale (environment includes tens of thousands of VMs and petabytes of data).
• Build, maintain and operate the cleanroom as an autonomous bootstrap environment capable of rebuilding components of the bank.
• Implement practical, supportable and performant solutions for ransomware recovery and protection.
• Day-to-day support of the cleanroom environment including incident, problem and change management.
• Ensure systems meet security standards, manage lifecycle and resolve vulnerabilities within the cleanroom.
• Collaborate within a small expert team; deliver working, tangible solutions that can be enhanced over time.

Required skills and experience

• Hands-on experience with large VMware environments.
• Understanding of networking, including firewalls and DNS.
• Security mindset with knowledge of MFA, segmentation, authentication/authorisation.
• Azure cloud expertise.
• Understanding of backup and immutable technologies.
• Versatile, experienced T-shaped engineer able to work autonomously and across multiple technologies.
• Language: English mandatory

• Deadlines achieved according to sprint planning.
• Successfulness of implemented technology.
• Service availability and uptime.
• Lifecycle management and resolution of vulnerabilities within the cleanroom.
