Machine Learning Specialist

Position

Role: Machine Learning Specialist (Medior or Senior)
Focus: ML Ops — linking business and IT to optimize model development, deployment and the Model Lifecycle platform. Not a Data Scientist or Data Engineer role.
Hours: 32-40 hours per week
Employment: Freelance not allowed

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Gather business and functional data requirements.
• Act as sparring partner for product owners and stakeholders.
• Create solution designs and data models in alignment with architectural guidelines.
• Ensure solutions are built according to designs and guidelines.
• Create User Stories in close alignment with team and stakeholders.
• Embed IT requirements, security, compliance and non-functional requirements, considering architecture landscape and target state.
• Participate in System Test and UAT to verify technical acceptance criteria.
• Organize test activities and follow up on findings according to testing policy.
• Ensure team deliveries are supported with proper documentation.
• Support automation and self-service onboarding of new models to minimize manual intervention and maintain secure, regulatory-compliant model serving platforms.
• Collaborate closely with IT, Group Analytics (modelers), Risk and Data Management.

Essentials / Requirements

• Passionate about data and data processing.
• 3+ years hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure-based systems (Azure, Databricks, CI/CD, MLOps, Automation).
• 3+ years hands-on software development experience (preferably Python or another programming language).
• Understanding of relevant banking, risk and modeling business processes or ability to learn quickly.
• Experience gathering requirements from business users and setting up appropriate DevOps pipelines; able to ask “why” repeatedly to get to root cause.
• Able to switch between detail and big-picture perspectives.
• Experience translating requirements into User Stories and working with Azure DevOps.
• Flexible working style; able to adapt to changing days while pushing back when necessary.
• Experience facilitating workshops to define processes, requirements and impacts on ways of working.
• Ability to set or challenge priorities; can-do mentality.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Additional information

• Location requirement: Must live within a maximum of 1.5 hours travel time from Eindhoven.
• Onboarding: During the onboarding period the candidate works full-time in the office.
• Application materials: Personal motivation and CV should be provided in English.
• Pre-employment screening: A pre-employment screening will take place if the candidate is allowed to start; the candidate may only start after passing this screening.
• Identity: Candidate must have valid proof of identity (passport or identity card) available at intake and on the contract start date.

Eisen

• Freelance not allowed
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure-based
  systems
• 3+ years of hand-on experience with software development using (preferably)
  Python or other programming language
• Speaks/writes English fluently
• Candidates must live within a maximum of 1,5 hour travel time from
  Eindhoven
• During the onboarding period, the candidate works full-time in the office
• The candidate has proof of identity (a passport or identity card), which is
  valid at intake and on the start date of the candidate's contract and can
  be presented for verification

Wensen

• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure-based
  systems
• Experience with Azure, Databricks, CI/CD, MLOps, Automation
• 3+ years of hand-on experience with software development using (preferably)
  Python or other programming language
• Understand/knows relevant business processes related with Banking and
  Risk/Modeling or can learn them quickly
• Has experience in talking to business users to gather requirements for
  setting up the appropriate DevOps pipelines
• Can explain requirements to developers (via User stories), has experience
  working within Azure DEVOPS
• Speaks/writes English fluently
