Senior Cloud Engineer (Data Engineering Experience)

Role overview

As a Cloud Engineer in Team Sensor you bridge the gap between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) by building and maintaining the technology that ensures seamless transfer of asset sensor data. You help develop and maintain the data foundation that enables data-driven management and optimization of the energy grid and asset lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud technology to enable reliable transfer and ingestion of sensor data.
• Develop and maintain the data foundation and pipelines that deliver high-quality data to applications.
• Support migration of applications to new technology stacks.
• Enable analytics and reporting that support grid performance analysis and data-driven decisions about grid management and expansion.

• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary agile team and apply SAFe principles.
• Translate complex data into valuable insights through strong analytical skills and clear communication.
• Share knowledge proactively and maintain a flexible, positive attitude when solving complex challenges.
• Work effectively with various stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.

Team & culture

Team Sensor is an interdisciplinary team of Data Engineers and Mendix developers focused on sensor data. The team is young and innovative, with an emphasis on product quality and impact. The team currently consists of 7 people (5 Developers, 1 Product Owner, 1 Scrum Master). You are expected to work on site approximately two days per week.

Desired profile

• Proactive team player with a passion for innovation.
• Strong analytical skills and clear communication.
• Experience as a Cloud Engineer or in data engineering, including migrations to new technology stacks.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment focused on sensor data and the energy transition.

Eisen

• Demonstrable work experience (at least three, but preferably five years or
  more) in a data environment as a Cloud Engineer or a similar position
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS – 5+ years
• Experience with the application of CI/CD
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
• Experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure tooling
• Experience with Python
• A background in IT and/or Computer Science

Wensen

• SQL
• Knowledge of Matillion and Snowflake, or similar ETL tooling
• Developing and managing ETL processes
• Integration of data in Snowflake
• Comfortable collaborating with English-speaking colleagues
• Knowledge and experience working in a Scrum Team
• Experience with the application of Agile, Scrum, SAFe, DevOps
• MAX 110,-
